One of the most important things to look for on your business’s social media is follower engagement. Engagement is how many followers have liked or commented on your post. Even if you have 100,000 followers, it doesn’t matter if none of them engage with your content. The more that a user engages with your content, the more the like and relate to your business. The more they like and relate to your business, the more likely they are to turn into a customer. The best way to get your followers to engage with you is to post content. Without content, there’s nothing to engage with in the first place!
Posting Consistent Content
To be successful on social media, you should post consistent content to all of your platforms at least three times a week. Uploading consistent content three times a week will help increase your following and the engagement from followers you already have. Make sure to stick to a schedule when you post, uploading content at the same time of day. Think of it like a TV show. TV shows are always on at a certain time on a certain day. This gets viewers tuning in more. The same concept works with social media. If you followers know that you always post on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the afternoons, they’re more likely to “tun in” at those times.
Recently, social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram also made changes to their algorithms. These changes make posting consistent content more important because Facebook and Instagram now show posts according to user engagement. It works like a cycle: businesses post consistent content which gets seen by more users, these users engage more with this content because it shows up on their news feeds more, and even more of a business’s content is shown to the user because they like to engage with it.
