If you’ve been keeping up with our Tuesday Tips, then you know that a few weeks ago we talked about creating consistent content. Today, we’re going to go over the kind of content you should be posting consistently: original content.

Questions To Ask Yourself

Does your company have a goal set for social media? Setting realistic goals helps you measure how well you’re doing. It also gives you an idea about what aspects of your social media you need to work on.

What about a budget? If you company plans on using as or boosting posts, you’ll need to have a budget. Even if you don’t plan on using ads or post boosts, there is someone working on all this content. How much of their time are your willing to pay for to get your original content created?

Then, who are you trying to reach? Make sure to research your target audience. Your social media should be tailored to the demographics of your audience.

Finally, if you put your brand into pictures, what would it look like? Consider your mission statement, logo, and slogan. Your social media imagery should match the look and feel of your company. For example, you don’t want to be a pool cleaning company with a blue logo that uses red images without any water all the time.

What To Post

Now it’s time to start posting! Creating original content can be hard. Sometimes, you probably won’t be able to come up with something original to share about your brand. Luckily, there are some other options. It’s ok to post photos that aren’t necessarily about your brand, but convey your brand’s feeling, style, or personality instead.

Share a funny meme. Post a quote from someone in your industry. Post a contest giveaway. Promote your products or services. Finally, post a tip or trick that your followers might find useful!
