No matter what industry you’re in, you probably know that some the information you need to convey can be pretty boring. Whether it’s paperwork or policies, not every aspect of business is exciting all of the time. This is why it’s important to be able to convey dry information in an interesting way by keeping content interesting!

Background

First, plan your background. When filming a video or taking a picture, make sure that your background is putting the focus on your subject and isn’t too busy. Still, your background can be fun! Try filming in front of a textured brick wall or flowers instead of a white wall. Similarly, take pictures of products on textured and fun backgrounds. You can also use backgrounds to convey your personality or company culture. Are you a fashion-forward boutique? Try a background that looks like a runway. Are you inventing the latest tech? Try a background featuring computers.

Cutaways

Also, when editing a video, try using cutaways. If you’re explaining a dry subject, try using cutaways to illustrate what you’re explaining. Cutaways can be very valuable in spicing up a boring presentation and help with keeping content interesting. Instead of watching someone talk about a subject, you can watch someone demonstrate how to use it while listening to facts about it!

Humor And Personality

Just because the subject you’re talking about is boring, doesn’t mean you have to be! Try using humor and showing your personality. Whether it’s including a cute animal picture in an article or having something funny happen in a video, a little bit of humor can lighten up a dry subject.
