Using Twitter For Your Business
Twitter is a social media platform that allows users to share snippets of information. The site only gives you a certain amount of characters to use. This keeps messages short and concise. Even though Twitter only allows for short messages, it can still be very valuable to your business.
Building Your Brand On Twitter
Like with most other social media platforms, Twitter allows you to brand your business right on your profile. To start, make sure your username is the same as your business name. Next, choose valuable pictures for your profile photo and header image that represent your brand. These can be pictures of your logo, your staff, or even your products.
Additionally, make sure to fill out your profile completely. Make sure to state your location in the Location section of your profile if you have a physical address. If you don’t want visitors coming to your headquarters, leave the Location section blank. Enter the link to your business website or blog in the Website section. Use the Bio to tell potential clients and customers about your business. Keep in mind that you only get 160 characters in the Bio section, so you should stick to the most important information.
Sharing Your Message
Once you’ve set up your profile, it’s time to start creating content! While Twitter only allows for a certain amount of text, it also lets you share links, photos, and videos. Use these other types of media to share your massage, and just use the text to support it. Be sure to look at the engagement of your Tweets to figure out what kind of posts your audience responds to. Ideally, you want to find a balance between creating the kind of content your audience likes and still promoting your business.
While hashtags are incredibly important on all social media platforms, Twitter actually created them in the first place. Because of this, hashtags are essential to promoting your business and message on the platform.
When creating your content, be sure to include relevant hashtags. Other users following these hashtags will have an easier time finding your content. If you want, you can even create a unique hashtag for your business to use online!
